Thank you for recommending this book! I read it today and loved it–the sensitive treatment of cultural issues, the depiction of an asexual character as something other than a freak, and that the white protagonist is able to recognize and call out her own racism when it comes up. I wish there was more YA fiction like this!

I’ve loved this movie ever since I was a little girl (and I now own it on DVD). I think the most profound point was the old witch explaining that even though she is a unicorn, she has to use magic to make people see her because they have lost the ability to see magic now.
